St Michael and All Angels is a CHRIST CENTRED ANGLICAN CHURCH that
uses ANGLO-CATHOLIC WAYS to focus people on GOD and HIS WAYS.
Daily Services or Daily Activities EARTHQUAKE UPDATE: Since 4
September 2010 our historic Victorian Gothic wooden church has survived
three major earthquakes (and thousands of aftershocks) almost unscathed
and is the only habitable church in use in the central city. Unfortunately
our 1872 Bevington three-manual pipe organ was damaged in the 22
February 2011 earthquake and was subsequently removed for repairs and
renovation. WE ARE SEEKING DONATIONS to help us meet the NZ $500 000 organ restoration cost. While
Christchurch Cathedral has attracted wide publicity, St Michaels has
not, but is trying desperately to conduct its vibrant musical and
Christian ministry as usual.

Location: St Michael's is centrally
located (corner Oxford
Terrace and Durham Street), within easy walking distance from Cathedral Square. Located to the south of the
Bridge of Remembrance and the City Mall, it is a short walk along the Avon River, and is
an integral part of the city's history and guided walks.
If driving you must approach via Oxford Terrace from the Montreal Street end. You will
find off-street parking to the west of the church.
